More than 100 faculty and staff members, students and postdoctoral associates attended CEE’s third annual Research Speed Dating Event held Friday afternoon, Feb.
15 in the Skyline Room of the New Media Lab building.
At the event, 24 faculty members and postdoctoral associates gave four-minute presentations about their research, each followed by a two-minute Q-and-A.
This year the junior faculty, who initiated Research Speed Dating in 2011, curated the presentations as themed-trios of talks broken up into four sessions chaired by undergraduates.
Session chairs were senior Tara Soni, junior Catherine Cheng, and sophomores Michelle Dutt and Dimitrios Pagonakis.
The themed trios were: The event was followed by a wine-and-cheese reception, which began with a congratulatory toast by Professor Andrew Whittle to Professor Sallie (Penny) Chisholm, who received the National Medal of Honor from President Obama at the White House Feb. Research Speed Dating planners were Assistant Professors Saurabh Amin, Marta González, Colette Heald, Jesse Kroll, Carolina Osorio, Pedro Reis and Janelle Thompson and Associate Professor Ruben Juanes.
