Learners are first asked to listen to the poem, note any words or phrases they already know and then discuss what they think the poem is about.
You can invite them to work out the meaning of the first line to set the context of the rest of the poem.
Learners are then presented with the text of the poem and asked to highlight all the verbs.
They will then select parts of the poem to read out loud.
Learners eventually create their own sentences and poems in Spanish and you can also work with other departments so learners have the opportunity to create similar poems in English and/or Welsh.
Follow-up activities in Spanish will include using the conditional tense in new contexts such as winning the lottery, describing an ideal holiday or school.
